About
I’m Stephany Qiōuyì Lu (陸秋逸), an 18-year-old sophomore at UNC-Chapel Hill majoring in linguistics and minoring in music. I was born and raised in southern California, but I decided to go to school on the opposite coast to see what life is like outside of my cultural bubble. It’s been an interesting adventure and I’ve definitely had to think about a lot of questions of identity.
I geek out about things, a lot, and frequently. I do not discriminate in the disciplines that I might geek out about.
Polyglossia is, according to Wiktionary, “the coexistance of multiple languages in the same area.” Not only am I interested in polyglossia as a linguistic concept, but, on a more personal level I also consider this blog to be polyglossic: I intend to reflect the texts and languages of music, of art, of academia, of life. Not quite the languages that I study in linguistics per se, but a sort of language nonetheless.
